A Hedgehog's Adventure

Prologue:

Life. This one miraculous thing can be seen in many different ways, but most people see it in only two ways.  Some people live life and not even notice it  as sun dawns and sets. These people are usually called normal people in life. Other people live life, but they respect it and and try to live life as best and successful as they can. These people are usually called successful people in life. However, there a very few people who try to live life to it's very fullest. They try to savor every moment as best as possible because for them, every moment is is a once in a lifetime opportunity and they respect life. They people are called thrill seekers or opportunists. These are usually  the people who are happiest in life and they will be till the day they die.

There is one such creature who is the happiest and most well-known trill seeker in the universe and this is where our story begins.

This very creature was standing on a cliff-face one evening. He had been there for the past hour scanning the valley below for any signs of movement. He had been standing there silently, but now he was getting impatient. He was not very good at standing still.

“When will Tails get here” ,the creature said.
Just then he got a transmission on his walkie-talkie. He hoped it was his friend.
“This is Tails”, came a voice from the radio. “I'm very close to your position.
“About time you got here. I've been getting bored” the creature replied.
“You won't be bored for long when the action starts.” said Tails. “There's going to be a lot of fireworks.”
“I know Tails” the creature said with a small irritation in his voice. “We went through the plan twice, back at the base.”
“And you never follow them” Tails replied with annoyed response. “Last time I nearly got my plane totaled because you did not follow the plan”
“Hmph. It needed a new paint job anyway” the creature replied sharply.
“*sigh* “What's the point of arguing anyway. Tails said. Let's just do this mission and come home in one piece. Alright.”
“Alright. As long as you leave some of the robots for me” the creature replied. “By the way, why couldn't I do this mission by myself.”
“Because you're a reckless hedgehog, Sonic,” answered Tails.
“But I'm the fastest hedgehog”he replied, and he is.

Sonic is the fastest thing alive. The Protector of Peace. The Defender of the innocent. The Famous Blue Blur. There is no one who could even match his speed, especially when he ran at his top speed of seven-hundred and fifty miles per hour and he held his title proudly. When was determined, nothing could stop him. Nothing. Not even the good, old Doctor Eggman.

“Yes, but you're still too reckless,” Tails replied. “Anyway, I just flying over you now.” And as soon as he spoke a plane flew directly over him. He couldn't see it very well, but he could hear it. And then the alarm came. I rang out through the valley, disturbing most of the local forest dwellers. Then down in the valley the base lit up. Everything was on alert. The robots were moving and patrolling. The searchlights were scanning the skies for the plane Tails was in. As the searchlights passed over the plane you could see the name on the side. Tornado.

“Are you ready Sonic,” Tails said with courage in his voice.
Then a grin formed on Sonic's face.
“I'm ready,” he replied with enthusiasm in his voice.
“Let's party.”
